When NYC Interior Design ® answers
NYC Interior Design ® lists itself as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That span holds every day, weekends included.
The studio describes itself as a Manhattan design-build firm focused on high-end homes. Its own description names Connecticut, New Jersey and New York City as places it works. New York logs 4624 heating degree days and 1212 cooling degree days a year, per NOAA normals for 1991-2020. The same normals put annual precipitation at 44.3 inches and snowfall at 27.9 inches.
Residential design and gut renovation
The firm says its work comes in three tiers. Build is the deepest. Kitchens and baths come out, walls move, and some projects join two units into one.
Design reworks kitchens, storage and lighting without structural change. Decor covers furnishings, art and textiles, with its Curation program starting at 5% of property value, the website lists. The company names Poliform, Liaigre and B&B Italia among the luxury brands it works with.
Founder Erika Flugger has 20 years in interior decor and project development in Manhattan, the website states. The firm holds a 5.0 rating across 12 Google reviews. Reviewers mention most often how closely the team listened and how well it ran gut renovations alongside contractors, and several point to custom built-ins and upholstery.
Its architectural designer, Pablo Almeida, holds a degree in architecture, the studio says.
Every Curation project starts with a written specification of each piece, finished before any order goes out.
Google Reviews
It was an amazing experience working with NYC interior Designs and design was fantastic I would say their team is professional and reliable.
I worked with Erika on a gut-renovation of my UES residence. She was recommended by a neighbor. I was thrilled with all of Erika’s thoughtful ideas, her communication style and ultimately, her execution. She was a valuable partner that transformed my home (custom built-ins, new kitchen, walk-in closets, herringbone floors, lots of upholstery and art, custom sectionals) into not only a place I love to spend time and host friends, but she also helped create tremendous value with these improvements.
My wife and I bought a condo that was extremely dated. We really weren’t sure where to start, and that’s where Erika came in. She was really great at listening to what we liked, and working with our ideas, made great recommendations. We ended working with a contractor who renovated the entire first floor of the condo. Without the ideas that Erika brought to the table we would not have ended up with all the attention to details and the “little things” that make a difference. We’re thrilled and would highly recommend working with Erika if you are looking for a designer.
